Computer Lab Set-up Tips for Your School

Use your wiki page to discuss and brainstorm the set up for your school for each of the areas below. This will be the beginning of a plan for your school site.

Organization

Lab set up (Room 260): Divided into two sections of 30 PCs and 30 Macs. 

Teachers sign up online.

Open to students one hour before school, lunch time, and one hour after school. 

Leadership and Accountability

Marti Bush is responsible for curriculum integration.

George Carter and Thong Ly are accountable for managing all aspects of the lab.

Teachers are responsible for managing their classes.

Technology Committee is responsible for infrastructure and planning.

Maintenance and Security

All computers are locked down.

Labs are alarmed.

Thong Ly is responsible for all computer maintenance and other electronic equipment.

Telephone calls and emails are used to report problems to George Carter and Thong Ly.

Most problems are resolved within two hours.

Accessibility for All

Teachers reserve computer labs on a first-come, first-served basis.  However, teachers who do not use the computer lab often are given priority over teachers who use the computer lab consistently.

All students are welcome to use the computer lab during previously mentioned times.
