The goal of this activity is:

     (1) an opportunity to discuss and share with others how your school manages your computer lab

     (2) Become familiar the skills of using a wiki and possible future uses for this sort of application for the classroom

Discuss these prompts. One person from your group will write a few notes as you discuss the following: 

How are classes using your school computer lab?

• Completing Field Study

• Typing essays

• Accessing online component of Reading Intervention curriculum

• Using specific websites for subject area resources (e.g. Jefferson Lab)

• Downloading podcasts for student viewing and writing prompts

• Instruction on use of specific applications (e.g. PowerPoint)

• Researching and creating Travel Brochure projects

• Internet research (with pre-selected sites or on their own) for clas assignments

What special tips do you have for managing your lab for other schools? (e.g - Possible tips to share: How does your school assure maintenance and security? Who is responsible for for management? How does your school ensure equity and accessibility to the lab for all classes?)
